A girl on my team happens to be the head coaches daughter. Lately she has been acting as if she was better than everyone, including her coaches. She would just run and tell her mother when she didn't like something, and her mother would yell at the other coaches.
This girl (coaches daugther) has not been completing full floor routines (with all of her tumbling) she says she is to tired. Two weeks ago, she ran out of the gym and "threw up" because I made her sprint 3 times instead of tumbling because she was "tired". Now, I feel like I had to walk on egg shells around her because shes the coaches daughter and if I upset her, I will get yelled at in front of the girls, again. Granted I shouldn't care whether I get yelled at or not because its my coaching methods, but her father has been complaining and writing letters to the director of the program.
We had Nationals in less than a week, and one practice left. Its been roughly three weeks since the girl has competed her full routine and I feel it is a safety issue when she competes at nationals, but her mother told me that I can not push the girls as much as I would like because they just can't do it. I don't know what to do because we only have one practice left and she needs to do a full routine, but I can not force her. I've tried to talk to her mother as a coach about it, but she just says I can not push her as much as I would like because they are going to get hurt. Please Help!

Well I'm not a coach..But i've seen it before.

I guess if her own mother won't do anything about it you'll just have to ignore it. I've seen it happen so many times kids on my team are lazy and slack off and make excuses. then when the competition comes they suffer developmentaly..Their scores are in the toilet. some people grow out of it but some just quit gymnastics. I doubt she would quit though due to the fact her mom's a coach. just remember..."only the strong survive."

I hope this helped =s

Well, I don't agree with this at all. I know it happens, but shouldn't at all. Is there anyone hire up you can go and talk to you. Is it just ran by her and he own building or is she hired by someone else that you can go and visit with to do something about it. Yes, I know she will find out the hard way but why does everyone else have to suffer just for her in the mean time before she suffers with poor scores?
