What was your first competition? Were you nervous? How did you do?

My first competation was in a little town (not my town) called Comox. It was the 'Chimo Gymnastics Pajama Party Invitational'. This was in 2000.

I had so much fun at this competation that when it was over I didin't care if I had one anything or not. In the end though I did placed 1st on floor, 3rd on bars, 3rd on vault, 6th on beam, and 3rd overall.

I also won an award for having the most pointed toes

I was very happy.:D

My first gymnastics competition was back in 1994 when I was 11 years old I was competing for my club (West Hull Gymnastics Club) in the Ridings gym tournament held in Leeds.

Of course like any other 11 year old in their first Gymnastics competition I was shaking with nerves as I have never been in front of a large crowd. The first competition was the individual all around event in which I came 4th a bad vault (not my favourite aparatus) cost me a bronze medal.

The next competion was the team event and my team won the silver medal whilst our girls team won the gold.

In the individual aparatus competition I was entered in the High bar, Floor and Prommell horse (My three best aparatus). First up came the High bar and I came away with the Bronze Medal, next was the Prommell horse where I won the Gold medal and in my final event which was the floor excercise I also won the Gold medal

I had to give up in 1997 due to a nasty knee injury in the Humber Youth Games when I was 14 years old

I returned to competion last month for my new club Beverley Gymnastics Club after my friends from secondary school Hannah, Caroline and Jane suggested I got back into it. Hannah, Caroline and Jane were in the women's team (Hannah competed for Scotland at junior level)

My first competion for Beverley G.C was in the White Rose cup held at Haltemprice Sports centre in Hull. I was nervous as I felt that I was a bit rusty after a 9 year absence.

First as always came the all around competition where I finished 4th last time out but this time I had improved my vault and came away with a bronze medal In the team event Haltemprice men finished 5th whilst the women retained their gold medal. Next game the idvidual aparatus and I was entered in my three best events (High Bar, Floor and Prommell horse) . In the High Bar i came a way with a Silver medal, In the prommell horse I came a way with a Gold Medal and I came away with a Gold medal on the floor excercise.

in the womens competion Hnnah was

Gold on Vault
Gold on Beam

Jane came away with

Silver on the A Bars
Gold on floor

Caroline was

4th on the beam
gold on A Bars
